One pad usually covers a night. A very heavy night may want a second, and a pad is no substitute for changing the person when they need it.

Where do underpads actually go?
Under the person rather than on them. On a bed the pad sits under the hips, on top of the bottom sheet. They work just as well on a wheelchair seat, an armchair or a car seat.
Do I still need a diaper if I use underpads?
Usually yes. An underpad protects the mattress and the furniture; it does not keep skin dry. Most households run both, with the pad as the second line of defence.
Will it slide around during the night?
The anti-slip backing is there to stop exactly that. Smooth it flat when you put it down and it should stay where you left it.
What size are they, and is a bigger one coming?
One size for now, 60 by 90 cm, which is 23 by 35 inches and covers the area that matters on a standard mattress. More sizes are in production.
